Southern NCSY REGBO Shabbaton in Boca Raton: A Weekend of Unity, Learning, and Inspiration

In a celebration of leadership, Southern NCSY recently hosted a REGBO Shabbaton in the vibrant BRS community of Boca Raton. The event was a beacon of inspiration, marked by insightful speeches, collaborative learning, and a strong sense of community, all set against the welcoming backdrop of the Montoya Circle community.

A major highlight of Shabbos was a riveting speech from Rabbi Goldberg, the esteemed Rabbi of BRS (Boca Raton Synagogue). His words resonated with the teen leaders, emphasizing the importance of leadership, community, and the enduring strength of Jewish identity. Rabbi Goldberg’s wisdom set the tone for a weekend filled with meaningful connections and shared experiences.

One of the standout features of the Shabbaton was the powerful sense of achdus (unity) that permeated every activity. Teens from various backgrounds and regions came together, strengthening the bonds that make Southern NCSY a dynamic and inclusive community.

Learning sessions were a key component of the Shabbaton, with teens engaging in thoughtful discussions and Torah study. The atmosphere was one of intellectual curiosity and mutual respect, fostering an environment where everyone felt encouraged to contribute their insights and perspectives.

The warmth of the BRS community added an extra layer of significance to the Shabbaton. Being immersed in the inviting atmosphere of Boca Raton, the teens not only enjoyed delicious meals but also experienced the hospitality of the BRS community, reinforcing the sense of belonging that Southern NCSY aims to cultivate.

Shira Asulin, the Board President, shared her thoughts on the Shabbaton, highlighting the impact of Friday night dinner at the Muschel home. “The warmth and generosity of the Muschel family made our Friday night dinner truly special. It was a remarkable experience that added to the overall warmth and camaraderie of the Shabbaton.”

As the Shabbaton came to a close, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose and connection. The Shabbaton was not just a gathering; it was a testament to the strength of community, the power of learning, and the inspiration that comes from coming together as one.
