SOUTH FLORIDA – November 15, 2023 – A delegation of over 35 passionate high school teens from South Florida, representing Southern NCSY, took part in the monumental Washington D.C. rally for Israel yesterday, November 14th. The event, organized to showcase solidarity and support for the State of Israel, attracted massive crowds from across the nation.
The rally, held at the National Mall in Washington D.C., witnessed an unprecedented gathering of individuals advocating in support of Israel and demanding the return of over 240 hostages, in the midst of the current Hamas terror crisis and war in the Gaza Strip. The South Florida delegation, comprising enthusiastic high school students, was excited to add their voice and energy to the already massive event.
Mark Rose, Southern NCSY’s Regional Director, emphasized the importance of having a robust presence at the rally. “It is crucial for our organization to actively participate in events like the Washington D.C. rally for Israel. It allows our teens to engage with the broader community, fostering a deep sense of connection and commitment to supporting and advocating for Israel,” said Rose.
Southern NCSY, committed to empowering Jewish youth, took a remarkable step in fully subsidizing the trips for all the participating teens. This initiative reflects the organization’s dedication to providing meaningful experiences for its members and ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder participation.
Two of the attending teens, Gili and Sara, shared their inspirational experiences at the rally. Gili expressed, “Being part of such a massive gathering, surrounded by people who share our passion for Israel, was truly empowering. It strengthened my connection to my roots and made me realize the impact we can have when we unite for a common cause.”
Sara added, “The energy at the rally was electrifying. It was heartwarming to see so many young people coming together to show their support for Israel. I am grateful to Southern NCSY for making it possible for us to be part of this unforgettable experience.”
