Southern NCSY Giving Day Surpasses Goals, Empowering Jewish Teens in Public Schools

In a resounding display of support and solidarity, Southern NCSY recently celebrated the success of its Giving Day, surpassing the initial fundraising goal of $400,000. The extraordinary achievement not only showcased the generosity of the community but also demonstrated a collective commitment to empowering Jewish teens in public schools.

The Giving Day was a collaborative effort, with teens actively participating alongside dedicated staff members in the fundraising endeavors. The energy and enthusiasm from these young advocates added a dynamic element to the campaign, emphasizing the importance of engaging the next generation in supporting their peers.

One of the standout initiatives during the Giving Day was the JSU (Jewish Student Union) Emergency Campaign. Recognizing the escalating challenges faced by Jewish teens in public schools amid a backdrop of rising anti-Semitism, this campaign aimed to create a supportive network through the establishment of additional JSU clubs.

Mark Rose, the Regional Director of Southern NCSY, expressed his delight at the overwhelming success of the Giving Day, saying, “We are thrilled and deeply grateful to our donors for their incredible support. Exceeding our goal is a testament to the commitment of our community to the vital work we do with teens.”

The JSU Emergency Campaign, a focal point of the Giving Day, seeks to address the unique needs of Jewish teens navigating public school environments. With anti-Semitism on the rise, the importance of creating safe spaces for these teens cannot be overstated. The additional funds raised will enable the expansion of JSU clubs, providing a haven where Jewish teens can find support, camaraderie, and a strengthened connection to their heritage.

Rose further emphasized, “The success of the Giving Day enables us to continue and expand our crucial work with teens, especially those in public schools who face unique challenges. Every dollar raised contributes to fostering a sense of community and empowerment among these young individuals.”

The Greater South Florida community can take pride in the impact achieved during the Giving Day, knowing that their support directly translates into meaningful programs for Jewish teens. As the organization continues its mission, the success of this campaign serves as a testament to the shared commitment to ensuring that no Jewish teen feels isolated or unsupported, especially in the face of adversity.
