Rabbi Benyamin Bortz

Director of SPRKS

Rabbi Benyamin Bortz brings together experience in teaching, mentorship, and organizational leadership, making a lasting impact in Jewish education and community life. He has taught in the James Striar School (JSS) at Yeshiva University, served as a Shoel U’Meishiv in the Mazer Yeshiva Program, and worked as a 12th-grade Maggid Shiur and Director of Student Activities at MTA, blending intellectual depth with warmth and relatability. 

In addition to his teaching, Rabbi Bortz has taken on key leadership roles within NCSY. He served as Director of TJJ, Assistant Director and Educational Director of Hatzalah Rescue, and Director of Southern Bussin' — all transformative summer programs that shaped the Jewish journeys of hundreds of teens. He now serves as Director of Day School Engagement for Southern NCSY, where he launched SPRKS, an innovative division dedicated to strengthening Jewish life in day schools through programming, mentorship, and leadership development. 

Rabbi Bortz studied for semicha at RIETS under Rabbi Aryeh Lebowitz and holds a B.A. in Psychology from Yeshiva University and an M.S.W. from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work. 

Bashie Bortz

Director of 4G

Mrs. Bashie Bortz is a Mental Health Counselor with a passion for empowering women through every stage of life. A graduate of the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, she previously served on the clinical team at Achieve Behavioral Health, where she specialized in women’s mental health, providing compassionate, evidence-based therapy to clients navigating relationships, motherhood, identity, and emotional well-being. Her work reflects both clinical skill and a deep commitment to helping others build resilience and clarity. 

In addition to her counseling background, Bashie has taken on significant leadership roles in Jewish education and programming. She directed Continue Your Journey, a division of Olami Launch, where she created innovative programs and curriculum for young adults from public-school backgrounds who were exploring their Jewish identity. She now serves as Director of Student Activities at Hadar High School, where she brings energy and creativity to the student experience, and as Director of 4G for Southern NCSY, where she develops inspiring programming that nurtures spiritual growth and strengthens community. 

Rabbi Josh Rosenberg

Day School Educator

Rabbi Josh Rosenberg grew up in North Miami Beach and studied for three years at Yeshivat Tiferet Jerusalem. After beginning a Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Miami, he redirected his path toward his true passion—Jewish education. 

He now teaches Tanach full-time at Katz Yeshiva High School in Boca Raton and gives evening classes at Congregation Shorashim in Hollywood. Rabbi Rosenberg is also the creator and host of Tanach & Tea, a popular live and podcast series through NCSY in which he is teaching through the entire Tanach using the Me’am Loez. 

In the summer, Rabbi Rosenberg serves as Program Director for Israel ID, NCSY’s premier summer experience for Modern Orthodox teens, blending adventure, spiritual growth, and a deep connection to Eretz Yisrael. Known for his warmth, creativity, and passion for Tanach, he helps students and participants see Torah as both timeless and deeply personal. He is also an active member of Chesed Shel Emes, a crisis-response organization led by his father, Rabbi Mark Rosenberg. 

Rabbi Binyamin Frager

Day School Educator

Rabbi Binyamin Frager was born and raised in Queens, New York, where his deep connection to Torah and Jewish life began at an early age. Inspired by the teachings of the great Chassidic masters, he developed a passion for understanding and sharing the inner dimension of Torah. Following high school, he continued his studies at Yeshivat Reishit, where his love for Torah learning and personal growth flourished. 

Upon returning to the United States, Rabbi Frager learned at Yeshivat Shor Yoshuv while pursuing a degree in Psychology at Touro College, combining intellectual insight with a keen understanding of the human spirit. After marrying his lifelong partner, Sharon, the couple returned to Israel, where he received semicha (rabbinic ordination) from the esteemed Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg, zt”l, and spent two years teaching at Yeshivat Reishit. 

Rabbi Frager has served as a Rebbe at Katz Yeshiva High School in Boca Raton, FL, for 4 years, where he teaches Halacha and Guitar. With a heartfelt commitment to nurturing the next generation, he engages his students with warmth, clarity, and joy—helping them see the beauty and relevance of Torah in their everyday lives. 

Beyond the classroom, Rabbi Frager is deeply devoted to reaching Jewish youth and teens, guiding them to discover their own closeness to Hashem through genuine connection and understanding. His approachable nature, creative spirit, and passion for music and poetry allow him to relate to his students and community in an inspiring and meaningful way. 

Whether he’s teaching, learning, or simply spending time with those around him, Rabbi Frager radiates a love for Torah and people that leaves a lasting impression on everyone he encounters.
